The Software Engineering Manager, Campaign Management Apps will design, develop, and deliver cutting edge campaign management, analytics and insights applications. The successful execution will result in highly scalable, secure, fault tolerant, resilient and easy to use applications for our end users. We are looking for a leader who will combine passion for technical innovation, quick prototyping skills, rapid iteration and delivery and full accountability for the quality, availability and performance of applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and drive the development, procurement and integration of software applications and technologies to deliver against our business strategy

  • Understand business and technical requirements and design enterprise-scale solutions that meet these requirements

  • Establish partnerships with business teams and manage executive-level relationships

  • Develop a strong working knowledge of how our end-to-end business works today as well as our vision for the future

  • Lead build/buy assessments and vendor selection activities

  • Serve as a credible voice internally to design end-to-end solutions that support our broadcast and digital products

  • Establish strong competencies in and supporting enterprise toolsets for agile development of a highly available, horizontally scalable system

  • Build a lean tech delivery team with skills, subject matter expertise and experience that meets iHeartMedia’s needs

  • Design and Develop abstraction layers for core functions to enable transformation initiatives and long-term technology modernization

  • Lead complex production deployment activities which require a coordinated approach between multiple delivery teams and ensure that technical deployment do not disrupt business processes

  • Establish and maintain a team culture of data-driven decision making, continuous improvement and operational discipline

  • Collaborate with technical and operational peers across iHeartMedia to ensure that our direction and approach aligns throughout the technology stack

  • Keep abreast of industry standards and ensure we are driving those that are important to us and aligned with others as appropriate

  • Work with peers to establish and continuously evolve software development standards and practices

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in modernizing technology stack and migration from legacy systems

  • Experience in developing abstraction layers through RESTful APIs for complex backend applications

  • Understanding of the way in which business teams must interact with a software development team to maintain alignment and to set and achieve goals

  • Enterprise architecture skills and experience that have been successfully applied to development of large-scale, mission-critical software systems

  • Deep working knowledge of software development lifecycles and methodologies, with specific focus on agile/Scrum

  • Experience in building applications on big-data, data warehouse, data lake platforms

  • Demonstrated process and organizational development and change management skills

  • Demonstrated people management skills appropriate to executive-level position in a large technology organization

  • Project and program planning, management and organizational skills

  • Ability to lead and motivate engineering talent and manage peers through influence

  • Ability to establish a data-driven culture and a repeatable, structured and disciplined approach to the full systems lifecycle

  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to details

  • Strong working knowledge of supporting technologies and key vendors in key areas such as agile development of elastic applications, test automation, CI/CD, IT security and public cloud

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent required

  • Advanced degree in technology or management fields preferred but not necessary

  • Minimum 10 years of experience designing and building software systems, with at least 3 years of experience in cloud-native solutions

  • 3+ years of experience in design, developing, and leading digital media technologies

  • Experience in building applications on big-data, data warehouse, data lake platforms is a plus

  • 5+ years leading technology and software engineering teams

  • 5+ years of technology team leadership experience

  • 5+ years of experience in API-based integrations

  • 5+ years of experience with industry trends and innovation in media, tracking, analytics and research

  • Experience in technology transformation projects

  • Experience leading testing and/or development teams with focus on test automation and CI/CD

  • Demonstrated track record of building excellent technology teams
