We are looking for Senior Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) who are knowledgeable software engineers and infrastructure engineers that have a background in programming, infrastructure, and networking to help take ownership of various parts of our infrastructure and create new and refactor existing components into self-service automated solutions that we can expose to variety of services. We share knowledge, responsibilities and value a culture of everyone being able to speak their mind and offer up constructive feedback. We work cross-functionally with every engineering team at iHeartMedia, ensuring we design and instrument tools and integrations that are of value from day one, driving towards simplicity and ultimately reliability.
Owning the development of our micro-services platform built on Kubernetes and other tech stacks
Automating AWS infrastructure provisioning and configuration management, using tools like Ansible, Gitlab, Chef, Terraform and Packer
Providingengineers with the tools they need to meaningfully monitor and alert on the services and features they develop, using tools like Prometheus,AlertManager, Grafana, EFK (ELK) Stack, and PagerDuty
Supporting the deployment and automated orchestration of various storage components, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Atlas, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Kafka, etc.
Strong knowledge of AWS and Google services, i.e. Autoscaling, ELB,ElastiCache, Kinesis, Lambda, ECS, Google Compute Engine, Big Query, RDS, S3, and Google Cloud Storage
Collaborating with and mentoring teammates
Working closely with engineers on other teams and presenting to multiple engineering teams
Exploring and evaluating different open source tools
Creating shared tools and services for software engineering teams
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and recommend new solutions to difficult engineering and networking related problems
Strong communication and documentation skills
Taking ownership of infrastructure components and leading team projects
Takes architectural specifications and considers business to create cost-effective, high quality infrastructure solutions to operate the business
Improves infrastructure, process and toolset by engaging with other IT projects and professions to eliminate barriers and direct IT toward best practices
Provides analysis, design consultation, and evaluation for technical or infrastructure projects
Maintains and shares knowledge with team in both formal and informal settings
Education and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and similar certs preferred
3+ years cloud engineering experience or equivalent
3+ years of experience with scripting and/or API development using Go, Python, Ruby or etc.
Strong understanding of database design, caching, scalability, configuration management and network fundamentals
Experience with Docker & Kubernetes
Demonstrated experience to resolve incidents, outages, and being part of an on-call rotation
