The Data Engineering Manager will design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain data pipelines, analytic applications and dashboards to support internal and external customers. The successful traits of this technology leader will combine passion for technical innovation, quick prototyping skills, rapid iteration and delivery as well as full accountability for the quality, availability and performance of the analytics platform at iHeartMedia.
Build and maintain data pipelines from internal and external applications, API’s, data stores and file stores.
Manage a team of full-time data engineers.
Develop team members through coaching and training.
Manage the end to end lifecycle of data services (design, develop, test, deploy, support).
Collaborate with technical and operational peers across iHeartMedia to ensure that our technical direction and approach aligns vertically throughout the technology stack.
Keep abreast of industry standards and ensure we are driving those that are important to us and aligned with others as appropriate.
Ensure high levels of operational discipline and high availability for the analytics platform.
Perpetuate a data-driven culture with high standards of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Support the implementation and contribute to the global enterprise vision for data operations at iHeartMedia.
Experience designing and delivering data integrations, data lakes and data warehouses
Hands on coding experience with Python, Go or similar language
Proficient in SQL and Big Data
Experience with data integration in AWS or GCP
Experience with cloud-based big data platforms such as BigQuery, EMR, or RedShift
Demonstrated understanding of distributed systems, modern operating systems and networking
Must be comfortable working in an agile development environment with shifting priorities
Exceptional communication and presentation skills are a must in this role
Experience managing and leading a distributed team and delivering software solutions
Experience in an agile development environment (Scrum and/or Kanban)
Experience working with Apache Airflow
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Education and Experience :
Demonstrated experience building data pipelines using open source products in a cloud environment
3+ years leading technology teams in a lead or manager role
7+ years experience delivering data integrations in an agile team
BS in Computer Science or a related technical field
