The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for full stack software development on both existing and new systems, as well as patching and troubleshooting technical issues as a part of third level support. Senior Software Engineers are also expected to provide architectural guidance and mentor more junior engineers.
The Senior Software Engineer performs the following essential functions:
Review provided specifications to identify potential issues and design optimal technical solutions to complex business problems
Participate in estimation and design review as part of the engineering team
Build software to specification, working with other engineers and the product team as needed
Perform as a full stack engineer, building both front and back end code
Mentors more junior engineers
Serves as a technical subject matter expert in Microsoft technologies
Performs advanced architecture and design work for software systems
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, relevant software engineering boot camp, or equivalent work experience preferred
- 5+ years experience as a software engineer with a focus on the Microsoft technology stack
Strong organizational / time management skills, and be detail oriented
Able to translate business specifications into working software
Ability to mentor junior engineers
Able to deal with problems quickly, multi-task, and prioritize work
Extensive experience with Microsoft .Net / C#
Extensive experience building web-based solutions, including JSON, MVC, and RESTful services
Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational ANSI-SQL database
Experience with ORMs, especially NHibernate, a plus
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) a plus
Network Infrastructure / Microsoft Server experience a plus
