Tests products for bugs/issues to ensure quality prior to product release or shipment. Installs hardware, software, and computer software. Completes paperwork related to inventory, shipping, and product testing.
Debugs software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products.
Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans and tools.
Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures.
Evaluates compatibility of programs with existing communications hardware and software features.
Develops quality assurance programs that establish and enhance quality assurance standards.
Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.
Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software.
Ensures quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.
Installs software, cards, and other hardware in computer systems according to established documentation.
Loads configuration data provided by Support.
Boxes and unboxes computers and related equipment.
Completes paperwork in a timely manner to properly receive inventory, ship inventory, and facilitate billing for shipped products.
Completes paperwork to document product testing.
Audits inventory regularly.
Must have hands-on experience with installing Windows computer hardware and software.
Two years' worth of experience working on computers, technical support, or testing software.
Two-year degree or greater in a computer or technology related field.
Must be organized and methodical.
Experience with documenting work and following strict procedures is highly desirable.
