iHeart Media has an opening for an Engineering Manager in the El Paso, Texas market.
Candidates must have a strong background in radio broadcast operations including maintenance of broadcast automation and studio equipment, RF equipment, AM directional antenna systems and computer/IT skills.
Maintains overall digital broadcasting electronic systems and related equipment for optimum transmission/broadcast performance
Maintains traditional radio and digital broadcasting electronic systems and equipment used to ensure optimum transmission and/or broadcast performance including electromechanical equipment such as switchers, consoles, transmitters, transceivers, and radio/voice modems.
Responds to equipment outages, malfunctions, and related technical problems.
Conducts diagnostic testing, repair and replacement activities.
Provides information technology solutions and services in the design, development, modification, implementation, and maintenance of cost-effective infrastructure.
Documents equipment maintenance, repair, and replacements. Decides test equipment, parts, and related tools needed for use in maintenance and repair.
Installs, maintains, and supports desktop computer equipment for internal users.
May maintain and repair information technology systems for assigned stations/locations.
May have responsibility for maintenance and upkeep of company-owned facilities, buildings, and transmitters.
Technical management and maintenance of a multi-station AM FM radio station cluster and assuring FCC legal compliance in all aspects of the operation. This is a service oriented position.
Excellent written and oral communications and organizational skills
Ability to work independently, occasional night and weekend work is expected
Must be on-call and available to respond 24/7
Ability to climb ladders, work in small spaces and ability to lift 50 pounds.
Familiarity with Nexgen or other audio playout systems High and low power RF transmission systems and transmitter maintenance Microsoft operating systems Audio mixing consoles Power generators and UPS systems Satellite systems Tower management
2 years technical school or military training in electronics or equivalent experience Prior radio broadcast experience, SBE certification or FCC General Class license is preferred A Valid state driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
